How do you gain access to a computer using the Kon-Boot CD?

The Kon-Boot CD temporarily bypasses the security of the Windows Operating System.  To gain access to a computer using the Kon-Boot CD, perform the following steps: Download the Kon-Boot CD Image. Burn the CD Image using ImgBurn or similar ISO Burning Software such as Nero. Insure that your BIOS has the CD/DVD Drive as the first boot device. Boot from the Kon-Boot CD. Login to the computer using a User Account with Administrative Privileges. You may not be able to change the password of the User Account so you will want to create a New User Account with Administrative Privileges. Once you have created the New User Account, reboot the computer. Login to the computer using the New User Account. Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer

When using Internet Explorer, you may encounter the error message: "Internet Explorer has closed this webpage to help protect your computer.  A malfunctioning or malicious add-on has caused Internet Explorer to close this webpage." A common cause of this error message is installing an HP Full/Basic Multifunction Printer Driver on top of an existing HP Full/Basic Multifunction Printer Driver.  To resolve this issue, perform the following steps: Uninstall all HP Full/Basic Multifunction Printer Driver. Reboot the computer. Uninstall Microsoft .Net Framework . Reboot the computer Reinstall Microsoft .Net Framework via Windows Updates. Reboot the computer. Install Visual C++ 2005 and Visual C++ 2008 . Install Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 - Error Code: 0x1018

When installing Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1, you may encounter the error code: 0x1018.  This error message normally indicates that another instance of Microsoft Installer is running at the same time.  To resolve this issue, hit CTRL-ALT-DEL and End Task on the other MSIExec Process and retry the install.  Or Click Start - Shutdown - Restart to reboot the computer and then retry the install. http://www.smartnetadmin.com

ERROR_INVALID_DATA(0x8007000d)

You may encounter the error message, "ERROR_INVALID_DATA(0x8007000d)."  The cause of this error message is normally related to defective hardware.  If possible shutdown the computer, unplug the power and remove the defective hardware such as bad PCI Card from the computer.  The computer should now function properly.  You may also find that running the Microsoft System Update Readiness Tool resolves this issue. http://www.smartnetadmin.com

Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working - Microsoft Silverlight - MSN.COM

When opening Internet Explorer, you may encounter the error message, "Internet Explorer Has Stopped Working."  This error message may occur on a web page which uses Microsoft Silverlight such as msn.com. In the Event Viewer, you may see the error message, "Faulting module name: KERNELBASE.dll, version: 6.1.7600.16385, time stamp: 0x4a5bdbdf" There are a number of issues which can produce this error message. In this posting, we will focus on the issue related to Microsoft Silverlight. To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps: Click Start - Control Panel - Programs and Features. Uninstalling/Installing Software Applications (Rebooting Computer) - Resolving Windows Installer Corruption

When using the Windows Operating System, the previous version of a software application must be removed prior to the installation of a new version of the same software application.  In order to achieve this, you must first remove the program using Add/Remove Programs and then secondly reboot the computer.  After rebooting the computer, you can then install the new application.  Rebooting the computer fully uninstalls the existing application.  If you (a) do not uninstall the existing application using Add/Remove Programs and then reboot the computer or (b) install the new version of the application on top of the existing version of the application, you will corrupt the computer.  Corruption can cause the computer to act in an erratic fashion not just in relation to the software application.  It can cause the computer to reboot, the computer to run slowly, Internet Explorer not to function, etc.  This behavior can mimic a virus infection but it is not....
