Following are the steps to import Microsoft Outlook Express Contacts into Microsoft Outlook 2007/2010 on Microsoft Windows Vista/7/8:
- Microsoft Outlook Express Contacts are stored in the Windows Address Book (WAB) format. On the Windows XP computer, backup the address book located at C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\[USERNAME]\APPLICATION DATA\MICROSOFT\ADDRESS BOOK to an external drive.
- On the Windows Vista/7/8 computer, double-click the WAB file. When prompted to Import, click Import. This converts the Windows Address Book to the Windows Contacts format in C:\USERS\[USERNAME]\CONTACTS.
- Open Microsoft Outlook.
- Select File - Import and Export - Internet Mail and Addresses.
- Click Next.
- Select Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or Windows Mail.
- Click Next.
- Select Allow duplicates to be created.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
