How do you transfer a domain away from Melbourne IT?

It has been my experience that following the domain transfer process outlined on the Melbourne IT website produces zero results.  In my opinion, the help site fails to communicate the actual process utilized to transfer a domain away from Melbourne IT.  Unlike all other Registrars, Melbourne IT requires that you first login to your account and obtain your Registry Key.  You are then required to email Melbourne IT with your Registry Key and request your Authorization Code.  In four to five business days, Melbourne IT then responds to your request with your Authorisation Code.  At your New Registrar, you are then able to enter the Authorization Code which allows you to complete the Domain Transfer Process. Select Lock/Unlock and then click Go. to unlock your Domain.  A domain must be unlocked in order for the domain to be released to your New Regist...

What is the quickest way to isolate an outbound email problem?

Confirm all of your mail settings are properly in place. Ping the outbound mail server and confirm you are receiving a reply. Telnet to the mail server SMTP port designated in your mail settings to confirm your mail client is able to acess the mail server on the designated port.  Example: telnet smtp.mailserver.com 25 You should then receive the response: 220 mailserver.com ESMTP If you are able to ping the mail server but cannot telnet to the mail server, it is likely that your Internet Service Provider (ISP) has appled an SMTP Filter also called a Port 25 Block to your Internet Service.  Please contact your Internet Service Provider to resolve this issue.  It is recommended that you contact your mail host and obtain mail settings that do not rely upon Port 25 for outbound email.
