When using Windows, you may find that Switch User is greyed out. Many computer manufacturers disable Fast User Switching by Default most likely to minimize technical support. Many manufacturers most likely have concerns about computer speed, shared resources, file ownership and file access. Technically however, all resources are available to all sessions in Microsoft Windows.
To enable the Switch User option, please perform the following steps:

- Click Start - Run.
- Type: regedit
- Click OK.
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
- Double-click HideFastUserSwitching
- Change the value from 1 to 0.
- Click OK.
- Reboot.
