If you are using an Intel RAID Controller, you would normally use the Intel® Matrix Storage Manager Utility for Windows to resolve this issue. Open the Intel Matrix Storage Console and right-mouse click the degraded drive. Mark the drive as Normal. The RAID Controller will then attempt to rebuild the drive array. This may take several hours to complete. If you are experiencing this problem on a routine basis, it is an indication that there is a problem with the RAID Controller on the motherboard or with the drives. You may need to replace the motherboard and/or the drives. If you are using Western Digital drives, it is recommended that you use Western Digital RE (RAID Edition) drives.
