To reset the Windows Firewall, Windows DNS, Windows TCP/IP and Windows Winsock, please perform the following steps to reset these components to default settings:

- Click Start - Run.
- Type: cmd
- Hit Enter.
- Type: ipconfig /flushdns
- Hit Enter.
- Type: nbtstat -R
- Hit Enter.
- Upon completion, reboot.
- Click Start - Run.
- Type: cmd
- Hit Enter.
- Type: nbtstat -RR
- Hit Enter.
- Upon completion, reboot.
- Click Start - Run.
- Type: cmd
- Hit Enter.
- Type: netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
- Upon completion, reboot.
- Click Start - Run.
- Type: cmd
- Hit Enter.
- Type: netsh winsock reset
- Hit Enter.
- Upon completion, reboot.
- Click Start - Run.
- Type: cmd
- Hit Enter.
- In Windows XP, type: netsh firewall reset
- Hit Enter.
- In Windows Vista and Windows 7, type: netsh advfirewall reset
- Hit Enter.
- Upon completion, reboot.
