This is a multi part message in MIME format

Any email beyond 60k is sent in the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME) format. The receiving email client then decodes the email so that it is properly displayed. When the message header of the email is malformed, the words "This Is A Multi Part Message In MIME format" are displayed at the top of the email.

A malformed message header can arise due to:

  • The sending and/or receiving party's antivirus application.

  • The sending and/or receiving party's email client.

  • The sending and/or receiving party's mail server.

Possible solutions to resolve this issue:

The sending and/or receiving party's antivirus application may not be properly installed. This can be caused by a previous antivirus application that has not been fully uninstalled. The Windows Operating System supports only one antivirus application. You cannot have two or more antivirus applications running at the same time. The sending and/or receiving party may need to fully uninstall their current and previous antivirus applications using the appropriate removal tool provided by their antivirus vendor. Once all previous and current antivirus applications have been removed, it is recommended that you reboot the computer and then install a single instance of your antivirus application.

If using Microsoft Windows, it is recommended that the sending and/or receiving party install all Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Updates. Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Updates are an important component of maintaining a stable operating system. Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Updates are accessible using two separate URLs:

Microsoft Windows Updates

Microsoft Office Updates

If using Microsoft Outlook Express, the sending and/or receiving party may require the Cumulative Update for Outlook Express (KB887797). If using Microsoft Outlook 2003, the sending and/or receiving party may require the Microsoft Outlook 2003 Hotfix (KB951982).

It is also possible that this issue has been caused by the sending and/or receiving party's Email Service Provider. The sending and/or receiving party's mail server may be the source of this issue. You may need to contact your Email Service Provider to report this issue.
