Configure And Use UltraVNC (Reverse VNC Configuration)

  1. Configure Router Port Forward for Port 5500 to Internal Private IP Address.

  2. Download UltraVNC from http://sourceforge.net/projects/ultravnc/files/

  3. Install UltraVNC on Server, selecting Yes to install Mirror Drivers but not selecting the option to install UltraVNC as a Service.

  4. On Server, click on Start - Programs - UltraVNC - Viewer and right-mouse click Run UltraVNC Viewer (Listen Mode) and send it to the Desktop as a Shortcut.

  5. Double-click the Shortcut on the Desktop so that the UltraVNC Viewer on your Server is listening for an Incoming UltraVNC Connection. An icon appears in the System Tray found in the lower right-hand corner next to the time clock.

  6. Ask the remote user to double-click the HelpDesk.exe program that they have on their computer. The HelpDesk.exe file has been created using the UltraVNC Single Click Online Creator found at http://www.uvnc.com/pchelpware/sc/creator.html.

  7. A screen is then displayed asking the remote user to Double Click Here. When the remote user double-clicks this sentence, HelpDesk.exe automatically makes a call to the IP Address of your Server using the precompiled UltraVNC module.

  8. A dialog box appears on the Server asking if you wish to accept the incoming connection. When you click Yes, you are now able to control the remote user’s computer.

  9. When you are connected to a remote user’s computer, there is a toolbar that runs across the top of the UltraVNC Window, click the Screwdriver/Wrench Icon - Connection Options.

  10. Where it says Viewer Scale, click Auto.

  11. From the Viewer Scale drop-down list, select 90%

  12. Click OK.

  13. When you have completed your use of UltraVNC on the Server, simply right-mouse click the UltraVNC icon found in the System Tray in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and select Close. This closes the connection on the Server as well as on the remote user’s computer.
