This method works for any Service-Related program that cannot be removed using Add/Remove Programs.
Sometimes, you may also wish to remove the Service from the registry. You can do so by performing the following:
- Click Start - Control Panel - Administrative Tools.
- Double-click Services.
- Right-mouse click the LogMeIn Service and click Stop.
- Browse to C:\Program Files.
- Rename C:\Program Files\LogMeIn to C:\Program Files\LogMeIn.old
- Reboot the computer.
- Delete the C:\Program Files\LogMeIn directory.
Sometimes, you may also wish to remove the Service from the registry. You can do so by performing the following:
- Click Start - Run.
- Type: regedit
- Hit Enter.
- Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services
- Beneath this registry key, you will see various sub-folders. Each sub-folder represents a Service that is loaded by Windows. To remove the Service, right-mouse click the appropriate sub-folder and click Delete. The Windows Service for LogMeIn is in fact named LogMeIn.
- Close regedit.
- Reboot the computer.
