An error occurred. Please try again later.

When browsing YouTube videos, you may encounter the error message: "An error occurred.  Please try again later."  There are a number of resolutions online for this issue but the great majority of them are incorrect.  Typically, the cause of this issue is limited to Mozilla Firefox and can occur in any version of Mozilla Firefox.  The source of this issue is due to a conflict between RealPlayer and Adobe Flash Player.  To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps:
  1. Close all web browsers including Mozilla Firefox and Microsoft Internet Explorer.

  2. Using Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features, Uninstall Real Player.

  3. Using Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs or Programs and Features, Uninstall Adobe Flash Player.

  4. Additionally, run the Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller to fully remove Adobe Flash.

  5. Install the latest version of Mozilla Firefox.

  6. Reset Mozilla Firefox to default values. Click Start - Run.

  7. Type: firefox -safe-mode

  8. Click OK.

  9. Check all boxes except for Delete Bookmarks.

  10. Click OK.

  11. Open Mozilla Firefox as you would normally.

  12. Browse to Adobe and install the latest version of Adobe Flash.

  13. Browse to RealNetworks and install the latest version of RealPlayer.
This issue has been resolved.  If this issue recurs, you may have to disable the RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin in Mozilla Firefox Plugins.

How do you stop an unstoppable Windows Service?

You may encounter a Windows Service in Services that has the buttons for Start, Stop, Pause and Resume greyed out.  If you attempt to stop the Service using sc stop [servicename], you encounter the error message: "The requested control is not valid for this service."  To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps: Click Start - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services. The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer.

You may encounter the following error message when using the L2TP/IPSec VPN Client that is native to the Windows Operating System: "The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer."  This error message typically occurs when you are using the wrong Pre-Shared Key for your L2TP VPN.  This error message can occur when other components of your configuration are incorrect but the first thing to confirm is that you are using the correct Pre-Shared Key.
