To join a computer to a Domain, please perform the following steps.

- Click Start – Control Panel – System – Advanced System Settings.
- Click the Computer Name tab.
- By default, a new computer is setup in a Peer To Peer Configuration also knows as a Windows Workgroup. Below Computer Name, you should see the word Workgroup with a colon. If this is correct, the following steps will be appropriate. If you see the word Domain, the computer has already been joined to a Domain. In this case, you will need to:
- Click Change.
- Select Workgroup.
- In the Workgroup field, type: WORKGROUP.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to reboot. After rebooting the computer, you can and then proceed with the following steps.
- In addition, prior to joining a computer to a Domain, it is normally best to assign a naming convention of some kind to each of the computers. I recommend WS-1, WS-2, WS-3, etc. If you wish to rename the Computer Name, you will need to:
- Click Change.
- In the Computer Name field, type your new Computer Name.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to reboot. After rebooting the computer, you can then proceed with the following steps.
- To join the Computer to the Domain, perform the following:
- Click Start – Control Panel – System – Advanced System Settings.
- Click the Computer Name tab.
- Click Change.
- Select Domain.
- In the Domain field, type the name of the Domain.
- Click OK.
- You will then be prompted to enter a username and password. In the username field, type: administrator. In the password field, type the password for your administrator user account.
- After a few moments, a dialog box will appear that says Welcome to your Domain.
- Click OK.
- Click OK.
- Click OK to reboot. After rebooting the computer, this process has now been completed.
