Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 - Microsoft Outlook 2003 - 0x8004010F

The default installation of Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 does not designate the Offline Address Book.  Therefore, Microsoft Outlook 2003 and other versions of Outlook will produce the following error upon Send/Receive:  "Microsoft Exchange Server reported error 0x8004010F.  The operation
failed.  An object could not be found."  Despite the various articles that tell you otherwise, the only steps that you need to perform to resolve this issue are the following:
  1. Open the Exchange Management Console.

  2. Expand Organization Configuration.

  3. Click Mailbox.

  4. Right-mouse click the Mailbox Database and select Properties.

  5. Click the Client Settings tab.

  6. Offline Address Book - click Browse.

  7. Select Default Offline Address Book.

  8. Click OK. 

  9. Wait a few minutes for Exchange Server to update. 

  10. In Microsoft Outlook, select File - Exit.

  11. Re-open Microsoft Outlook and click Send/Receive.
The issue has now been resolved.

How do you stop an unstoppable Windows Service?

You may encounter a Windows Service in Services that has the buttons for Start, Stop, Pause and Resume greyed out.  If you attempt to stop the Service using sc stop [servicename], you encounter the error message: "The requested control is not valid for this service."  To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps: Click Start - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Services. The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer.

You may encounter the following error message when using the L2TP/IPSec VPN Client that is native to the Windows Operating System: "The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer."  This error message typically occurs when you are using the wrong Pre-Shared Key for your L2TP VPN.  This error message can occur when other components of your configuration are incorrect but the first thing to confirm is that you are using the correct Pre-Shared Key.
