Microsoft Office 2003 to Office 2007 Upgrade: Office 2007 Encountered An Error During Setup

When attempting to upgrade Microsoft Office 2003 to Microsoft Office 2007, you may encounter the error message: Office 2007 Encountered An Error During Setup.  The installation log file for Microsoft Office 2007 is located at C:\Documents and Settings\%userprofile%\Local Settings\Temp.  Within this log file, you may also see the error message: The installation source for this product is not available.  This is an indication that Microsoft Office 2003 was not previously installed in a complete manner and/or the .Net Framework has been corrupted.  To resolve this issue, please perform the following steps:
  1. Remove Microsoft Office 2003 and Microsoft Office 2007 with the appropriate Microsoft Fix.  You can also use the Microsoft Windows Installer Clean Up Utility to facilitate this process.

  2. Reboot.

  3. Remove .Net Framework with the .Net Framework Removal Tool.

  4. Reboot.

  5. Browse to Windows Update and install all .Net Framework Updates.

  6. Reboot.

  7. Install Microsoft Office 2003 with SP3.

  8. Browse to Windows Updates and install all Microsoft Office Updates for Microsoft Office 2003 and .Net Framework.

  9. Install Microsoft Office 2007 Upgrade.

  10. Install Microsoft Office 2007 SP2.

The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer.

You may encounter the following error message when using the L2TP/IPSec VPN Client that is native to the Windows Operating System: "The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer."  This error message typically occurs when you are using the wrong Pre-Shared Key for your L2TP VPN.  This error message can occur when other components of your configuration are incorrect but the first thing to confirm is that you are using the correct Pre-Shared Key. If you are using the wrong Pre-Shared Key, the L2TP VPN connection will say Connecting for a long period of time and then display the error message: "The L2TP connection attempt failed because the security layer encountered a processing error during initial negotiations with the remote computer."
